The Magnificent Macadamia

Happy National Macadamia Nut Day! (Yes, it’s a thing!)

Frankly, macadamia nuts don’t get the recognition they deserve and are often misunderstood. Most people associate the macadamia nut with Hawaii. While most of the world’s supply today does grow in Hawaii, the nut originated in Australia.

Macadamia nuts are creamy and tender and pair well with chocolate, which may be why they are often used in baking. However, they also make a terrific snack as a valuable source of minerals and vitamins.

You can add macadamia nuts to a salad or even toss some into your popcorn. Here at The Kitchen Witches Pantry, we prefer to bake them in our cookies – and not just any cookies, but our chocolate fudge brownie cookie!

Happy celebrating!

  1. I usually eat Macadamia nuts as a snack, but I also have added them to cookies or anything that calls for nuts….when I have them.
